Guidelines for the development of pedestrian walkways to support the life of students in the University of Phayao

On April 23rd, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, the President of the University of Phayao, along with other university officials, participated in a traditional ceremony to pour water and offer floral garlands to Phra Phutthaphuchakarak and the statue of King Naresuan the Great. The ceremony was followed by the presentation of nam khamin som poi to the university president by the vice presidents, as part of the water pouring ritual. This ritual is an important Thai cultural tradition held during Songkran to show respect to elders. During the event, the President of the University of Phayao Staff Council made a formal request for forgiveness. Afterwards, the president offered blessings to all university staff and representatives from various departments. They then performed the water pouring ceremony to pay respects to the president and senior members in succession. The celebration also included a Lanna-style spicy minced meat salad (Lab Mueang) cooking competition, a ceremonial parade contest, and various cultural activities aimed at preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Northern Thai culture. These events fostered unity among university departments, with each unit given the opportunity to participate. In addition, food booths were set up by various departments, showcasing traditional snacks and refreshments. The water pouring ceremony is a significant event in the university
