University of Phayao Reinforces Area-Based Development and SDGs through the 15th Phayao Research Conference
The University of Phayao hosted the 15th Phayao Research Conference under the theme "SDG Global Connect: Learning from Best Practices" during 26–27 January 2026 at the University of Phayao. The conference reaffirmed the University's role as an area-based higher education institution in driving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the integration of academic knowledge, research, and multi-sectoral collaboration. The opening ceremony was presided over by Adjunct Professor Athapol Yaisawang, Chairman of the University Council, while Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D. President, University of Phayao, delivered the conference objectives.

The conference highlighted the translation of research outcomes into social, environmental, and economic impacts. A key initiative, the "One Faculty, One SDG" project, generated significant value for local communities, with several projects achieving social and economic returns exceeding tenfold, as measured by Social Return on Investment (SROI).
