The assessment was conducted by a team of assessors from the National Standardization Council of Thailand (NSC) and experts from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO) to evaluate the Unit's conformity with international standards and relevant requirements.

SEEN 2nd year student MBT waste sorting visit
Local 2 Teachers / 89 Students SEEN Led the 2nd-Year Student Visit on the "MBT" Waste Sorting and Processing System Bachelor of Engineering Program in Environmental Engineering, School of Energy and Environment, to a study visit on the Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) waste sorting and processing system at the University of Phayao. They were welcomed by Dr. Prus Pingmuanglek, Director of the Center for Environment and Sustainable Management, who also gave a lecture on the university's current waste management practices, including recycling plastic waste such as bottle caps into hangers, converting plastic waste into fuel oil for grass-cutting machines, processing opaque plastic bottles into plastic feedstock for 3D printers, and producing refuse-derived fuel (RDF). The visit aimed to provide students with tangible, practical learning experiences outside the classroom.

International 25 Researcher SEEN Organizes an Online Seminar on the International Research Network on Climate Change This online seminar was honored by Prof. Dr. Edvin Aldrian, Vice-Chair, Working Group 1, IPCC, Indonesia, who gave a lecture on the topic of "Key findings of the IPCC's Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) on the physical science basis of climate change." Participants received information and knowledge on climate change from the new AR6 report directly from the Vice-Chair of Group 1 on Physical Science Basis, IPCC, and exchanged views on climate change, which is very useful in dealing with the climate change that we will face, including the development of research and the creation of an international research network.

Fahsai 2 at Phayao Enhanced City Air Purifier Tower RISC MQDC
Local 650 Teachers / 998 Students University of Phayao Works with RISC by MQDC on "Fahsai 2 at Phayao", an Enhanced City Air Purifier Tower to Research PM2.5 in the North of Thailand "Fahsai 2 at Phayao", the city-level air purification tower, uses the same technology as "Fahsai 2" at the Airport Rail Link at Makkasan Station in Bangkok with an automatic air purification system. The hybrid air purifier tower combines energy from its solar panels with mains power to reduce its daytime electricity demand and achieve environmental and sustainability goals while enhancing well-being. Developing on the first generation of Fahsai, the device has an enhanced ability to kill bacteria, fungi, and viruses using UVC and ozone.

National 1,950 Teachers / 15,798 Students Environmentally Friendly Transportation System, the University of Phayao's Sustainable Approach to Carbon Neutrality The environmentally friendly transportation system activities (battery electric buses) that the University of Phayao is conducting demonstrate that the University of Phayao has sufficient potential to be a university that aims for carbon neutrality or a leading organization in greenhouse gas management according to the indicators of the University of Phayao according to the strategic plan for the development of the University of Phayao for fiscal year 2024–2028 and aims to become a sustainable green university.

University of Phayao has launched a climate change initiative aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Its 2024–2028 strategic plan clearly outlines key performance indicators for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. A core strategy involves reducing fossil fuel consumption by transitioning the university's public transportation system from natural gas and NGV vehicles to electric buses (EVs), significantly lowering carbon dioxide emissions. The university also promotes the use of clean energy sources, such as solar power, to enhance environmentally friendly operations. In addition, the School of Energy and Environment is committed to research, teaching, and community service in the fields of energy and environmental sustainability, supporting long-term development within both the local community and broader society. In summary, the University of Phayao has implemented comprehensive programs and policies to address climate change through risk reduction, impact mitigation, and adaptation—particularly in energy management and greenhouse gas emission reduction.
