Overview

The University of Phayao is committed to promoting clean energy and sustainable energy management through renewable energy systems, electric transportation, and energy efficiency initiatives. These efforts support long-term sustainability and the university’s goal toward carbon neutrality by 2040.

Policies and Plans

The university implements the Energy Conservation and Climate Change Policy and supports renewable energy adoption through solar rooftop development, energy efficiency programs, and low-emission transportation systems.

Implementation

Solar Rooftop Project (PEA–UP Collaboration)

  • Installed capacity: approximately 2.997 MWp (2,997 kWp)
  • Registered under TGO (T-VER standard)
  • Expected emission reduction: 2,077 tCO₂eq per year

UP BusTransit — Electric Transportation

EV Bus
Electric bus service operating within the University of Phayao campus.
  • Electric buses are used for internal campus transportation.
  • Supports reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from transportation activities.

Smart Energy Efficiency

  • Smart building systems are used for energy monitoring and management.
  • Energy-efficient equipment such as LED lighting is widely implemented.
  • The university participates in Earth Hour activities annually.

School of Energy and Environment (SEEN)

SEEN
Academic unit supporting research in energy and environmental technology.
  • Conducts research and development in energy and environmental fields.
  • Supports the university’s long-term carbon neutrality goal.
