Overview

The University of Phayao aims to produce graduates who are ready for the digital economy while strengthening community-based entrepreneurship through business incubation systems and sustainable area-based development initiatives.

Implementation

University of Phayao Business Incubator (UPBI)

The University of Phayao Business Incubator (UPBI) supports students, graduates, academic staff, and external entrepreneurs in developing entrepreneurial capacity. It connects research, innovation, and technology toward commercialization while providing business advisory services and incubation support facilities.
  • Supports students, alumni, staff, and local entrepreneurs.
  • Provides business consultation, mentoring, and incubation facilities.
  • Promotes commercialization of research and innovation.

New Generation Curriculum

The New Generation Curriculum is a collaborative academic initiative between the university, government agencies, and private sector partners. It is designed to meet the demands of the New Economy and labor market transformation.
  • Co-developed with public and private sectors.
  • Aligned with digital economy workforce requirements.
  • Example: Bachelor of Business Administration in Digital Business.

Community Development Projects

The university implements community-based development initiatives focusing on innovation-driven local development and lifelong learning enhancement.
  • One Faculty One Innovation Community initiative.
  • Phayao Learning City promoting upskilling and reskilling using Design Thinking.

Phayao Research Forum

The national academic conference series (Year 13–15) promotes innovation, applied research, and community-based economic development. The 2024 conference included special sessions on carbon credit business and the transformation of the service industry.
